You had indicated that staggering
was acceptable in our telephone conversation on October 22, 2004. We have also included
sampling for pH in several soil samples as per your request. Additional detail on sampling for
asbestos is also added into the Work Plan including the sampling method and method detection
limit (Tables 10 and 11). Asbestos sampling locations will be determined based on the asbestos
survey results, if asbestos sampling is needed.
• Per your request, we have indicated that low-level laboratory method detection limits (MDLs)
would be utilized, and we have provided the MDLs in the Work Plan.
• We have also indicated that the DTSC would be collecting its own duplicate samples during the
field investigation.
• The site HASP has been revised to incorporate the comments from DTSC-HERD. Also per our
discussions, the HASP is included as Appendix E of the Final PEA Work Plan, although it has
been prepared as a "stand-alone"document in format and in context.
• The schedule has been revised to reflect the current anticipated timeline.
We hope that the Final Work Plan meets with the DTSC's satisfaction and approval so that we can
proceed with the proposed investigations expeditiously.
