ATC Associates Inc,
1117 Lone PellaAvenue, Sante 201
Modesto, California 95351
209-579-2221
A S S 0 C I A T E S INC ,
Fax: 209-579-2225
be installed over each vapor extraction well (Figure 9). For the sake of efficiency and to mirnimize
disruption to the site tenant, trenching activities will not be initiated until the planned ozone pilot
testing has been completed and a determination regarding installation of an ozone injection system
for groundwater remediation has been made. ATC expects that ozone related piping and control
equipment can be collocated in the soil vapor extraction trench and compound, respectively. An
above ground wellhead manifold will be constructed within the compound for airflow control from
the vapor extraction wells and will include a sampling port for monitoring purposes (Figures 10
and 11).
Equipment operation will require the installation of an electrical power source and meter base. Site
system requirements will likely include a 230V, three-phase 100-amp power source. The thermal
unit will also be supplied with either propane or natural gas as the supplemental fuel source. A
NEMA 4, UL Listed Control Panel will be located at the compound (Figures 12 and 13).
9.2.3 I2enrediation System Construction
Upon review and approval of the remediation system design plans and specifications by the
SJCEHD, ATC will complete the following tasks.
9.2A Permits and Inspections
An Authority to Construct and Permit to Operate application will be completed and submitted to
the SJVAPCD to allow for construction and installation of the proposed system . The application
will include site-specific historical information, vapor extraction specifications, and analytical
results. A complete set of plans will be submitted to the City of Stockton Building, Planning, and
Fire Departments for review, comment, and approval prior to construction and installation of the
system.
Following approval of the design plans and specifications, obtaining City Building, Planning, and
Fite Department permits, and SJVAPCD air permit to construct, the remediation system will be
installed in accordance with the approved Plans and Specifications. Construction will include
completion of wellhead piping connections; pressure testing of lines; installation of remediation
compounding fencing; connection of electrical service and installation; and plumbing of all process
equipment related to the extraction system.
9.2.5 System Startup and Operation
After completion of installation, operation of the proposed system will be initiated in compliance
with applicable regulatory agencies. Startup procedures will include monitoring, maintenance, and
sampling within the first five clays of operation, Operation and maintenance of the system typically
includes three site inspections for the first week of operation , and site visits once every week for the
first month. After the first month of operation, site visits will be typically performed once every
two to four weeks, or as needed over the operating life of the remediation system.
