N
u
ATC Associates Inc.
1 117 Lone Palin Avenue, Suite 201
Modesto, California 95351
(An
209-579-2221
ASSOCIATES I N C . Fax: 209-579-2225
9.2.8 System Operation
Based on results of the October 2008 vapor extraction tests and current site conditions, ATC
anticipates the system will operate for a period of 18 to 24 months to achieve the PRG soil
cleanup objectives.
9.2.9 System Performance Evaluation and Reporting
Vapor extraction performance will be evaluated to determine the systcm effectiveness. Vacuum
response and nu*mRae PID levels from individual wells and system influent and effluent will be
used to evaluate the cycling rotation of the extraction wells for optimal system performance.
Routine system operation and maintenance data and system performance results will be
documented in quarterly reports. At a mininnnun, each report will include the following; hours of
operation; system influent and effluent field monitoring readings ; laboratory results of influent and
effluent air samples; total and individual vapor extraction well flow rates; induced vacuum
responses recorded in observation wells; hydrocarbon mass recovery; system destruction efficiency;
and radius of influence information. Recommendations will be provided to optimize system
performance and enhance remediation of impacted soil and groundwater, if warranted.
10.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
Groundwater monitoring and sample collection from the monitoring wells associated with the
site will be conducted in accordance with the current schedule to evaluate the water quality.
Groundwater samples will be submitted under chain-of-custody procedures to a State-certified
laboratory and analyzed for ORO utilizing EPA Method 801513, and BTEX, M"CBE, ethyl tertiary
butyl ether (ETBE) di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary amyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl ether
(TBA), 1 ,2-DCA, and 1 ,2-dibromoethane (EDB) utilizing EPA Method 8260B. Depth to
groundwater measurements will also be performed . Periodic reports will be prepared to
document the results of each event.
11 .0 VERIFICATION MONITORING
Discrete soil samples may be collected in the future using direct-push technology to evaluate those
areas with reported historic elevated absorbed phase corltanninatnt concentrations. Analytical results
can be used in an attempt to approximate a soil mass flux.
12.0 CLOSURE GOALS
12.1 Remediation Contingency Plan
The remediation system effectiveness will be evaluated during each site visit and reported on a
quarterly basis, Based on the results of groundwater monitoring and remediation system
performance, ATC may propose additional assessment and remedial activities, as appropriate.
SVE System Design Plan ATC Associates Inc.
Stockton City Taxi
Page 12
