FREMONT ST. , STOCKTON, CA 95205
PREVIOUS WORK AND REPORTS
Two previous reports/ applications have been prepared and
'^ presented to the San Joaquin Department of Health Services ,
Environmental Health Division (EHD) by Jim Thorpe Oil Inc . ,
(JTO) . These two appended documents are : ( 1 ) Application For
Tank Removal , and (2) Re--Excavation/Resample Work Plan,
dated 3/23/92 . This report is appended.
The re—excavation/resample work plan proposed to partially
fill the existing excavation at the north and south ends
where no contaminants had been found, using the portions of
the spoil that had tested clean, and to enlarge and deepen
4 the excavation and resample in the areas where contaminants
had been found.
This report by WJH relates the activity at the site
subsequent to and as a result of Report # 2 listed above .
The site location is given on Figure 1 and other figures
where appropriate .
BACKGROUND DATA RE:
,.., TOPOGRAPHY, SOILS AND HYDROGEOLOGY
The site is located in an industrialized area, on the
parking lot and partially in the entrance to a rear parking
yard for trucks and equipment for several businesses . The
parking area is enclosed by a chain link fence that had been
partially removed in order to get the excavation equipment
- to the site . The fence and entrance gate were replaced
after operations were completed on 4/21/92 .
The area location is shown on Figure 1 of this report, a
USGS topographic map base . Elevations approximate 22 ' MSL.
The parking area is covered with somewhat degraded asphalt
and in the immediate area where the UST' s had been located,
a 6" concrete pad had been poured.
Figure 2 shows the area soil types , although the surface
.. soils in the general area had been completely covered with
asphalt, roads , curbs and buildings . The surface soil is
shown as "Stockton Adobe Clay" , which was found in the
excavation underlying the surface cover.
2
V
