4 M <br /> 9.0 SPECIFIC PROCEDURES <br /> 91 Drilling Operations <br /> Note #9Z personnel may not be responsible for insuring these <br /> procedures are done, however, they must be aware of them <br /> 91 1 Prior to Drilling <br /> 9 1 1.1 Call Underground Service Alert (U S A ) to locate <br /> and mark all utilities in the drilling area <br /> Check to see who is covered by the service Some <br /> municipalities do not subscribe Requests must be <br /> made 72 hours in advance It is recommended for <br /> on site work and required for all off site work <br /> In most cases utilities will not be marked on <br /> site, however, they will be marked on the <br /> sidewalks surrounding the site which should give <br /> an idea of line locations- <br /> 911 <br /> ocations_911 11 Call any non-subscribers to USA to <br /> mark their lines i e , local sewer <br /> and storm drain agencies <br /> 9112 Obtain drawings (or protect site plan), whenever <br /> possible, of station layout In all cases these <br /> will only be a guide <br /> 9113 Walk site, noting location of utilities and/or <br /> Previous excavations <br /> 91.131 Underground electrical, natural gas and <br /> product lines are the most dangerous <br /> hazards <br /> 9 1 1 3 2 Identify overhead power lines, etc <br /> 911.4 All drilling locations will be verified and/or <br /> marked by the GeoStrategies Inc field technician <br /> 91 1 5 When drilling active stations <br /> 91151 Contact dealer or manager and explain <br /> work to be performed, preferably 4$ <br /> hours in advance <br /> 9 1 1 5 2 Locate emergency shut off <br /> switches/valves and insure all members <br /> of crew know where they are ("Crew" <br /> • includes all subcontractors) <br /> GSI7-1-91 Page 28 <br />
