- enviros,
Former product lines encountered in the northeastern corner of the new UST excavation at
a depth of approximately 8 fbg were left in place due to the depth at which they were
encountered. This action was approved by the SJCPHS representative.
9.0 SOIL STOCKPILE DISPOSITION
Three soil stockpiles were generated during station remodeling activities;one from the
removed UST excavation, one from removed product line trenching activities, and one
from new product line and utility line trenching activities. The total estimated volume of
soil generated was 900 cubic yards from UST and product line removal activities and 100
cubic yards from new product line and utility line installation. Soil stockpiles were
analyzed (at a minimum)for TPPH,BTEX, and Total Threshold Limit Concentration
(TTLC)lead in order to classify the soils for disposal and meet landfill acceptance criteria.
Soil was transported to Forward Landfill in Stockton, California for disposal. Laboratory
analytical reports are contained in Appendix A.
10.0 CONCLUSIONS
Soil sampling data collected during excavation and over-excavation activities have
delineated the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soils beneath former
UST's.
Concentrations of TPPH and BTEX compounds identified in the vicinity of the former
northwest fuel dispenser were over-excavated to the extent feasible. Excavation was halted
due to the presence of the canopy column and footing. All remaining samples collected
from the product line trenches and the former fuel dispenser islands were ND for TPPH
and benzene with the exception of sample ST-2, which contained 3.7 ppm TPPH and
0.011 ppm benzene
Product lines encountered in the northeast corner of the new UST excavation were left in
place as approved by the SJCPHS. All other former generation product lines were
removed and samples collected from former generation product line trenches were ND for
TPPH and benzene.
If you have any questions, please call.
Enviros, Inc.,sy
ann
Greg L.
