Fremont Street wrer= -
Stackton, California -
WIC k204-75241806
REDDear Mr.Infuma: /,
Cambria Environmental Technology,Inc.(Cambria)has prepared this Work Plan Addend=in (/
respoeae to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) April 7, 1998 letter
commenting on Cambria's February 28, 1998 Work Plan.
Cannon's previous subsurface investigation at the site did not defin6 the vertical exmm of
petroleum hydrocarbons in the vicinity of the northern-most dispenser island.neer Fremont
Street. The direct-push drilling technique used for Boring SB-2 me with refusal at a depth of
35.5 feet below grade(fbg). The final soil sample collected from Boring SB-2 contained Total
Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasolme(TPPH) at a concentration of 5,700 ppm and
ND(<5.0 ppm)levels of benzene and methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether(MTBE). Cann ns's February
28, 1998 Work Plan proposed the installation of a soil boring drilled with hollow-stem augers to
Va,m define the vertical exmm of petroleum hydrocarbons in sail at this dispenser island. In addition,
this boring would be drilled to determine the depth where ground water occurs beneath the site.
L',isaxaonu A ground water sample would be collected from the boring and analyzed to determine if -
itarraoax lxc petroleum hydrocarbons have impacted ground water. This investigative approach was based on
information that indicated depth in ground water at this sire may be at 55 to 65 fbg.
PamaSrrm.
,o ii`e_5s Depth to Ground Water
#°1Lv Information obtained from SJCPHS on April 25, 1997 indicated that the depth to ground water
USink at a site located approximately 19 of a mile south of the subject site ranged from 55 to 65 fbg
in recent years. SJCPHS's April 7, 1998 inner indicates thin ground water at the subject site is
know to occur at five feet below the deepest boring drilled at the site.
