The letter was prepared in response to our July 10, 2008
Corrective Action Plan and Response to Request for Interim Remedial Action. The letter requested
additional information to support the selected remedial alternative (insitu chemical oxidation [ISCO])and
proposed bench scale testing(BST)and site assessment activities. The letter established September 1,2008
as the due date for submittal of a revised Corrective Action Plan(CAP) and Site Investigation Work Plan
(SIWP). CRA and Shell personnel have reviewed the letter and have determined that additional time is
needed to properly perform the evaluations that you suggest and to coherently prepare our response so that
we meet your needs for approving the CAP, BST, and SIWP. In addition, Shell's technical review team
(Shell Global Solutions) requires a 30-day review period for any document related to remedial
recommendations. Based on these items,we have determined that we cannot meet the established due date.
We therefore respectively request that the due date for a response to your letter be extended to
October 15,2008. We will expedite our efforts as best possible and will submit the document to you prior
to that date if feasible.
If you have any questions regarding the contents of this document, please call Mike Murphy at
(707)933-2367.
Sincerely,
Conestoga-Rovers and Associates
Mike Murphy
Project Manager
cc: Mr.Denis Brown,Shell
IaSonoma.Shell\Stockton 2494 E Frenant\CORRESPONDENCEVwg 08 Extension Request.doc
E1.7
Employment
Opponun0 Employer
Worldwide Engineering,Environmental,Construction,and IT Services
