AAA RIA
INVESTIGATION RESULTS
Personnel Present Geologist Anne Wettstone, Geno Mammini, and Scott Lewis
directed the drilling activities under the supervision of
California Registered Geologist Joe Neely
Permit. Drilling permits were obtained from SJCEHD (Permit numbers
0035920, 0038373, and 0038422) Copies of the permits are
included as Appendix A
Dialling Company Gregg Drilling and Gregg InSitu (C57 License Nos 485165 and
656407)
Drilling Dates December 15 through 19, 2003 (wells)and July 6, 7, 8,9, 12,
and 13, 2004 (borings)
Drilling Method• Hollow Stem Auger and Cone Penetration Test(CPT)
• Sampling Methods Soil types were continuously logged in borings SB-20 through
SB-25 and SB-29 using CPT equipment The soil types
encountered are described on the CPT logs presented in
Appendix B Soil samples were collected from borings SB-19
and SB-20 for chemical analyses Groundwater samples were
collected for chemical analyses using hydropunch equipment
where CPT logs indicated water-bearing soils occurred Soil
types were also logged at 5-foot intervals or continuously logged
while drilling the well borings The soil types encountered are
described on the boring logs presented in Appendix B Soil
samples from the well borings were collected at varying
intervals for headspace analysis
Number of Bonngs Three well borings and eight CPT borings were drilled during
this investigation As mentioned in the work plan addendum,
three of the borings (SB-26, SB-27, and SB-28) were not drilled
because we were not allowed access to the property (2491 East
Fremont Street) on which they were proposed The well boring
• specifications are described in Table 1 and locations are shown
0797 2
