CAB R I A
•
o Cambria also proposes collecting soil samples in the southern corner of the site, in the
vicinity of SB-9, where 1,2-DCA has not been detected These soil samples will also be
analyzed for total lead to establish "background" lead concentrations which will be
compared with lead concentrations found near boring near SB-4
• Cambria also proposes performing a record search of the surrounding area to identify any
possible offsite sources of 1,2-DCA
o Cambria proposes to modify the analytical program for quarterly groundwater sampling
events to include 1,2-DCA analyses on groundwater samples collected from all wells at this
site These data will aid in understanding the distribution of 1,2-DCA at the site and to allow
evaluation of concentration trends
WORK PLAN
We propose to drill two soil borings and collect soil samples for total lead analysis The borings
(SB-19 and SB-20) will be drilled at the locations shown on Figure 2 Boring SB-19 will be
. drilled near SB-4 to evaluate total lead levels in soil near the suspected source area Boring SB-
20 will be drilled in the southern corner of the site to evaluate background total lead levels in the
soil
Work Tasks
Well Permit Cambria has an active drilling permit with SJCEHD and is planning to perforin the
drilling activities under this active permit
Site Safety Plan. A Site Safety Plan will be prepared for field work
Utility Clearance- The proposed drilling location will be marked and cleared through
Underground Service Alert prior to drilling
Site Investigation: Borings SB-19 and SB-20 will be drilled at the locations shown on Figure 2
The soil borings will be drilled with cone penetration testing (CPT) equipment Soil samples
will be collected from these borings at depths of approximately 50, 60, 70, 80, and 95 feet below
grade A Cambria geologist will supervise the drilling activities Soils encountered in the
borings will be described using CPT logging equipment The scope of work described in this
• work plan will be performed under the supervision of a registered geologist
0797 4
