The property is located at the northeast corner of Longe
Street and Stimson Street in the southwest portion of the Stockton Metropolitan Airport complex and
is on land leased from the Airport. The property contains one 30,000-square-foot concrete tilt-up
building used for warehousing surrounded by undeveloped grassy areas to the south and east and by
paved areas and landscaping to the north and west.
The subject property was undeveloped land until the present building was constricted in
approximately 1977. At the
( time of the site reconnaissance on October 15 2000, the building was utilized to store materials for
Earth Grains, including baking machinery, racks, pans, pallets and nnisect]aneous storage. The
concrete flooring appeared in good condition, with no visible cracking or staining. There were no
visible items indicative of possible asbestos-containing materials (ACM's). There was no visible
stained soil on the property and no visible pipes protruding from the ground that might indicate the
presence of an underground storage tank (UST). AGE noted the remnants of a small building
foundation and dump area to the southeast of the building.
Groundwater is encountered on the subject property at approximately 30 to 40-feet below surface
grade and flows generally to the northeast, putting the airport in a down-gradient position. AGE
reviewed files at the San Joaquin County Public Health Services-Environmental Health Department
(PHS-EHD) for sites listed on governmental databases that might indicate possible environmental
concern to the subject property.Based on review of the files for adjacent sites and up-gradient sites
within Y2-mile from the subject property, contaminants from adjacent or up-gradient sites are not
considered likely to have impacted the subject property.
No potential environmental concorns were noted during the site reconnaissance or found during the
ASTM interview with the property owner. There was no evidence of hazardous substance utilization
or storage on the subject property. There was no evidence that underground storage tanks were
formerly located on the property.
