Any liquid going into the storm drain are non-hazardous.the storm drain is protected by a oil and sediment drain guard and the pressure washing area, just north of the storm drain has secondary containment to keep any hazardous liquids from reaching the storm drain. As per the burn off ash, both tests came from the same 4x4 tray.This 4x4 tray was being used to dry the burn off ash that had gotten wet from the rain. Using this 44 tray is not a normal process.This tray was just used to dry the ash before throwing away because nothing wet is to go in the garbage per the test results the burn off ash is non-hazardous and can be thrown away. As per the paint booth filters, we believe the first test results to have been contaminated. We were shocked to see it high in zinc. We have always been under the impression that these are non-hazardous waste, Per tests prior to my employment here which I can't find.The contamination issue has been addressed. we have one paint booth next to the sanders department.The painter and the sanding lead have both been talked to about proper clean up.The painter is to change his filter first thing in the morning and put it in a colored garbage bag "no more using black bags for filters" and take it straight to disposal.The root cause of the contamination was from a painter putting the filter bag out side of his paint booth and a sander used this bag thinking it was for sanding department clean up.To prevent this from happening again the painters will start using orange colored bags for filters and the sanders are to use clear or black backs when cleaning the sanding room to dispose of the sanders dust.
