Iridite ZDC Activator #113076 Page 2
2. OPERATING, CONDITIONS
Operating Concentration 50— 150 ml/L
Temperature Ambient—80°C
pH at Working Concentration 2.5-3.0
(can be adjusted —see solution control section)
3. SOLUTION MAKEUP
Add slowly to water the required quantity of Iridite ZDC Activator while mixing
effectively to produce a homogeneous solution. Following this, a solution analysis
should be carried out in order to confirm the solution concentration.
4. SOLUTION ANALYSIS
Sample Preparation
Ensure the bath is mixed thoroughly before taking the sample and that the
sample is then representative of the whole bath. Allow the bath to cool down to
room temperature. If cloudy, allow to settle or filter with filter paper.
pH Adjustment
If due to plant or general processing circumstances it is found necessary to
adjust or rebalance the operating pH value, it is recommended that either
Ammonium Hydrogen Carbonate is used to increase the pH value or Citric Acid
is used to lower the pH value.
Analysis
Titration —Total Acidity Method
Reagents:
• Phenolphthalein indicator
• IN Sodium Hydroxide with 40 g/L of Sodium Citrate.
[The 1 N Sodium Hydroxide plus citrate is prepared by starting with 1 N Sodium
Hydroxide and adding analytical reagent sodium citrate and dissolving. Re-
standardize the solution and adjust or just compensate for the slight change.]
VacDarmill Inc.,
Telephone:800 Fax!M575Freight '79905ales OMGT
er Fne:
0 203-575-5916
t nr acdermidcom Pq
