There are eight rinse water tanks on the plating line .
Two tanks per day, Monday — Thursday, are emptied and transferred to the Solid Removal Tank
to be treated by the addition of flocculant on order to precipitate out metals .
Prior to transferring water from the rinse tanks it is tested with the use of pH paper to validate
that the pH is above 2 and less than 12 . 51 . Samples were collected from the rinse tanks
(Tumbling Rinse , Hot Rinse, Stripper Rinse and Pressure Wash ) on June 29th and analyzed for
CAM 17 metals ( contaminants of concern ) . Samples were analyzed by Precision Enviro -Tech ,
and results included on lab report 7070719 - 01-04 . CAM 17 metal results were below the
thresholds referenced in 22 CCR § 66261 . 24 ( a ) ( 2 ) (A) .
1 If the pH Is 2 or less, or 12 . 5 or more it will not be transferred to the Solid Removal Tank, it will be transferred
directly to drums or a tote and managed as a hazardous waste .
