(vv:ATC <br /> A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> The groundwater samples collected from wells NMI and MW2 contained detectable <br /> concentrations of TPHg, TPHd, TPHk, and/or BTEX Only benzene exceeded the maximum <br /> contaminant level (MCL) of 1 part per billion The sample collected from well MW3 contained a <br /> very low concentration of xylenes only Well Nff4 was nondetect <br /> Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) was detected in wells MWI. and MW2 No other oxygenate <br /> fuel additives were detected above laboratory method detection limits including ethanol, t- <br /> butanol, di-isopropyl ether, ethyl t-butyl ether, and t-amyl methyl ether Analytical results for <br /> groundwater are summarized in Table 2 Laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody <br /> documentation are contained in Attachment 2 <br /> ADDITIONAL SITE ACTIVITIES <br /> On April 7, 2000, ATC personnel met with Clearwater Environmental who picked up <br /> approximately 390 gallons of purgewater from the site The purgewater was transported to <br /> Alviso Independent Oil in Alviso, California where the water was recycled <br /> On April 26, 2000, ATC personnel met with TPS Technologies Inc who picked up 13 55-gallon <br /> . steel drums containing soil cuttings generated from subsurface investigations performed at the <br /> site The drums were transported to TPS Technologies Soil Recycling facility in Richmond, <br /> California where the soil was treated to nondetectable levels using thermal desorption and <br /> recycled <br /> Copies of field notes and the non-hazardous waste manifests are included in Attachment 3 <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> Concentrations from wells MWI and N W2 have generally decreased since the previous sampling <br /> event with the exception of benzene, which increased in well MW 1 Concentrations from wells <br /> MW3 and MW4 have remained the same or nondetectable since the previous sampling event <br /> The groundwater elevation has increased since December 1999 <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based on the results of the first quarter 2000 monitoring event, we recommend the following <br /> o Conduct Second Quarter groundwater monitoring and sampling of wells MW 1 through <br /> MW4 in June 2000 and analyze the samples for TPHg, TPHd, TPW BTEX, and fuel <br /> oxygenates <br /> W\6257740sc-2000 aw 3 <br />
