BACKGROUND <br /> It is our understanding that one 3,000-gallon gasoline undergiound storage tank (UST) was removed <br /> from the site in February 1987 Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline diesel and <br /> kerosene (TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-k) and volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and <br /> xylenes BTE&X) were detected in a single soil sample collected from beneath the UST at the time <br /> of removal Based upon results of the UST soil sampling, the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) is requiring a minimum of thiee soil borings <br /> to assess the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon impaction at the site Furthermore, it is our <br /> understanding that ground water depth in the area of the site is approximately 45 to 50 feet <br /> 2 0.
