TPHd has never been detected in samples collected from wells MW5 through
MW7. The lateral extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon plume in groundwater appears to be
receding.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of the first quarter 2005 monitoring episode, we recommend the following: j
• Conduct the second quarter 2005 groundwater monitoring of wells MW1 through MW7
and analyze samples from only MW1 and MW2 for TPHg by EPA method 8015M,
BTEX by EPA method 8021B, and fuel oxygenates including MTBE by 8260B quarterly.
No longer submit samples for TPHd. Inspect well box conditions and maintain all well
boxes in a water tight state.
' • Sample MW3 through MW7 on an annual basis only, as suggested in the SJCEHD
correspondence dated November 19, 2003. ATC additionally suggests the. annual
sampling be conducted in the second quarter (April) when the groundwater has
seasonally been at its highest elevation.
• Implement the Addendum to Corrective Action Plan and Site Conceptual Model as
approved by SJCEHD in their correspondence dated March 17, 2004.
Please contact our office at(209) 579-2221 if you have any questions.
Respectfully submitted,
ATC Associates Inc.
Nathan Christman
Staff Geologist
IEANNE
r t y .
Jeanne Hornsey, P.E.
CA Registered Civil Engineer No. 47410
cc: Ms. Lori Shields, Diesel Performance
' Mr. Tim Barton, RWQCB
S:16217711QR-2005.doc 4
