(L&P) has completed this report to summarize source removal activities associated <br /> with the Fremont Gate LLC property located at 2911 E. Fremont Street, Stockton, California. The <br /> excavation activities discussed in this report were designed to remove an unused clarifier, which is the <br /> primary source of subsurface soil contamination at the site and, to the extent possible, remove <br /> contaminated soil beneath the clarifier,which acts as a secondary source of contamination. In addition, <br /> L&P personnel collected indoor and ambient air samples at the site to evaluate potential health risk to site <br /> employees. Figure 1 presents the site location. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Site Description <br /> The property consists of roughly 3.84 acres encompassing San Joaquin County Assessor's Parcel <br /> Numbers(APNs) 143-080-55 and 143-080-57. The property is relatively flat and sits at an elevation of <br /> approximately 25 feet above mean sea level, in an area of Stockton, California zoned for commercial, <br /> business. Figure 1 presents the site location. <br /> The property currently houses an equipment rental service company, United Rentals, and includes a <br /> structure of approximately 30,000 square feet, an exterior storage yard, paved parking areas, and <br /> landscaped grounds. The structure contains an inactive equipment wash area with associated drains and a <br /> clarifier in the southernmost 1/3 of the building, and an active wash rack, drains and a clarifier in the <br /> northernmost '/3 of the building. The wash racks, drains, and clarifiers are reportedly connected to the <br /> municipal sewer system. Figure 2 presents a site plan/aerial photograph showing the primary features of <br /> the site. <br />
