Per DTSC
guidance, the EHD recommends one additional round of indoor air sampling and collection of
a subsurface soil gas sample from the excavation pit area to compare constituent
characteristics and concentrations with the indoor air samples. Prior to sample collection all
potential sources of volatile contaminants should be removed from the building and the
space be allowed to air out. If the subsurface soil gas sample has substantially different
composition or has lower contaminant concentrations than the indoor air sample, then vapor
intrusion would not appear to be an issue.
If you have any questions please contact Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337 or by email at
Iduncan(DDslcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C.
