OWN r`4
A&A Tool Rentals
2911 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California
Phase II Report of Findings
Soil Boring in Waste Oil Tank Area
1.0 Site History
On February 19, 1993 WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc. submitted a work plan to
Michael Collins of the San Joaquin County Health Department to investigate the area
beneath the former waste oil tank area. The investigation was required by the County
to check for the presence of soluble chromium and soluble nickel, as samples tested for
those metals at the time of the tank removal indicated elevated levels using the "TTLC"
testing methodology.
WHF contracted with Pierson Drilling Company to perform the boring which was
made on March 12, 1993. Pierson Drilling used a 8 718" hollow stem auger to make
the boring to a depth of 15' form the soil surface. A single soil sample was obtained
,. using a modified California split spoon sampler containing a brass sleeve. The sample
was contained in an ice chest with both crushed ice and Blue Ice, and transported
under chain of custody to the Greyhound bus station in Modesto, California, who
. shipped the samples to Geo Monitor Laboratories in Hesperia, California for analysis.
2.0 Summary of f ndings
The samples were tested using the "STLC" extraction procedure using de-ionized water
as the extraction solution, as directed by the County Health Department. The samples
were tested for chromium with results of less than 0.06 mgll being found. The nickel
results were 1.22 mgll found in the sample. Sampling of the soils was witnessed by
Dianne Hinson from the County, and the samples themselves were transported by Steve
Furnas of WHF. No boring logs were made as previous investigations at the site
*" contain sufficient geological information. The results of the previous investigation is
. contained in the appendices of this report.
