Chevron U.S.A. Inc. <br /> Site Safety Plan <br /> October 2, 1991 <br /> 3.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 3.3 Background <br /> _. Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has retained Groundwater Technology, Inc. to <br /> perform a site assessment/investigation at their abandoned Chevron <br /> Service Station facility located at 3246 East Fremont Street, Stockton, <br /> California. <br /> 3.2 Purpose <br /> The purpose of the site safety plan is to provide Groundwater <br /> Technology field personnel and subcontractors with en understanding of <br /> the potential chemical and physical hazards that ex_st or may arise <br /> while the tasks of this project are being performed. <br /> This SSP describes the procedures to be followed in order to reduce <br /> employee exposure to potential health hazards which may be present at <br /> the project site. The emergency response procedures necessary to <br /> respond to such hazards are also described within this SSP. <br /> 3.3 W ective <br /> The primary objective is to ensure the well-being of all field <br /> personnel and the community surrounding this site. In order to <br /> accomplish this, project staff and approved subcontractors shall <br /> acknowledge and adhere to the policies and procedures established <br /> herein. Accordingly, all personnel assigned to this project shall read <br /> this site safety plan and sign the Agreement and Acknowledgement <br /> Statement (Appendix A) to certify that they have read, understood and <br /> agreed to abide by its provisions. <br /> GTI personnel have the authority to stop work performed by our sub- <br /> contractors at this site if any Mork is not performed in accordance <br /> with the requirements of this Site Safety Pian. <br /> 3.4 Amendments <br /> Any changes in the scope of work of this project and/or site conditions <br /> must be amended in writing on the Site Safety Plan Amendment Sheet <br /> (Appendix H) and approved by Health & Safety Manager. <br />
