PHSIEHD has prepared the following
comments for your consideration.
The quarterly report indicated that although the groundwater level had increased,
groundwater contamination was not detected.
Pursuant to the Technical Review Committee's recommendations, as indicated in
PHSIEHD correspondence dated May 2, 1995, environmental fact and transport
analysis was conducted to evaluate any possible threat to groundwater. Since
analysis indicated that the residual soil contamination would not pose a threat to
groundwater, PHSIEHD concurs with the recommendation for site closure.
Please submit a work plan to locate and destroy all monitoring wells. Please note
that closure certification will be issued following well destruction. If you have any
questions, please contact Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
