I 3246 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California September 16, 1993 <br /> Chevron USA Products Company Page 2 <br /> On February 10, 1988, groundwater monitoring wells EA-1, EA-2, EA-3, and EA-4 were installed. <br /> ' Groundwater was encountered at approximately 46 feet below grade. Hydrocarbon concentrations <br /> were detected in all wells except EA-2 (EA, 1990). All wells were reported as being dry by <br /> ' September 21, 1989. <br /> On August 9, 1990, monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 were abandoned while two additional <br /> groundwater monitoring wells (EA-5 and EA-6) were installed. Depth to water was approximately 70 feet <br /> below grade. No hydrocarbon concentrations were detected in EA-5 and EA-6. <br /> ' 3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 3.1 SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN / BACKGROUND REVIEW / PERMITTING <br /> Groundwater Technology prepared a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan required by the Occupational <br /> ' Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency <br /> Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120). The Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan was prepared by <br /> ' Groundwater Technology personnel, following a complete review of site conditions and any existing <br /> Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans for the site with the project manager. The document was reviewed <br /> and signed by all Groundwater Technology personnel and subcontractors personnel and subcontractors <br /> performing work at the site. <br /> ' Groundwater Technology conducted a technical review of all pertinent information prior to proceeding <br /> with assessment work at the site. All applicable permits pertaining to monitoring well installation were <br /> obtained (Appendix A). <br /> ' 3.2 SOIL BORINGS <br /> On May 3, 1993, Groundwater Technology drilled two soil borings utilizing a truck-mounted drill rig <br /> equipped with 8-inch hollow-stem augers. The soil borings were drilled to depths of approximately <br /> 85-feet below grade to accommodate monitoring well installation (MW-4 and MW-5).
