With a 3-inch PVC bailer. Only t to 3.5 volumes of standing
water could be removed, because of very slow recharge to wells
EA2 and EA3. Inflow into the old monitoring wells 4MW1 , MW2, and
MW3 ) was also very slow: only 0.3 (MW2) to 2.3 -volumes of
standing water could be evacuafea. The purged water was filtered
through an activated carbon filter and put in 55-gallon drums. A
sample of the purge filtrate was collected for analysis.
After purging, each well was sampled, using a clean Teflon
bailer. The samples were collected in 40-m1 vials with Teflon-
lined caps and preserved with hydrochloric acid, in such a way
that no air bubbles were present in the containers. Samples were
placed on ice and, with a chain of custody form, shipped to the
Anametrix laboratory for analysis, using EPA Methods 8015 and
8020.
c23/77q2 6
