06 rune 1997
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends the following..
• Even though trace levels of xylenes and MTBE were encountered in soil samples collected
from. P-3 through P-5 at depths of 25 and 30 feet, there does not appear to be an extensive
petroleum hydrocarbon-impact at depths greater than 30 feet. Based on soil samples collected
from the site on 12 May 1997, ground water depth beneath the.site and soil lithology
encountered during drilling activities, it appears unlikely that petroleum hydrocarbons beneath
the site pose a significant environmental concern. Therefore, no further subsurface
investigation is recommended at this time.
• Because the site has historically been utilized as a fueling facility, a Phase 1 environmental site
assessment is recommended at this time to identify, locate and assess environmental
characteristics of the site that could lead to liability in the event of ownership, that could have
a potential impact on property value, or that could impact present'or,future usages of the site.
7.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skillordinarilyexercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/ hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of available
data points(soil samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points. No other
warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this
report.
E
