It is now necessary to plan and execute the <br /> II wells installed as art of our site investigation and remedial action, as the <br /> destruction of a p y g <br /> EHD will not:issue a No Further Action (NFA) letter for this site until the wells have been <br /> property destroyed and all onsite waste materials have been removed and properly disposed. <br /> The wells are,to be destroyed within 90 days of date of this letter, or current analytical data for <br /> groundwater collected quarterly fro h the wells shall be submitted for review until such time that <br /> the wells has been properly destroyed. r <br /> Please submit a scope of work,proposal that details the. methods and materials to be used to <br /> destroy 'the wells. To be issued a,well destruction permit,' the proposal must address the <br /> concerns and;requirements of the EHD listed below. <br /> • Wells that have .laboratory data from the last sampling event that demonstrate the <br /> presence of any contaminants of concern are to be destroyed by removing the contents <br /> (well casing, screen, filter pack, and annular seal); the cleared borehole is then to be <br /> sealed with neat cement by.pressure grouting from the bottom upward to a depth of <br /> three to five feet below surface grade (bsg). . <br /> • All wells located within the -area ofknown soil contamination are to be destroyed by <br /> removing the contents (well casing, screen, filter pack, and annular seal); the cleared <br /> borehole is then to be sealed with neat cement;by pressure grouting from the bottom <br /> upward to a depth of three to five feet bsg. <br /> I <br /> • Wells that have laboratory.data from the last.sarapling event that report non-detectable <br /> concentrations of contaminants of concern and with acceptable laboratory detection <br /> limits, may be destroyed by pressure grouting while leaving the well casing in place. <br />
