During a telephone conversation on April 29, 2009, between the EHD and i
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE), it was decided that a grab groundwater sample
should be collected at the southwest corner of the above-referenced property in place of
installing MW-5 to verify the detection of total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as '
gasoline (TPH-g) at 800 micrograms per liter (pg/L) in groundwater samples collected at 1
sixty-five to seventy-five feet below surface grade (bsg) from P-15B. Please submit a work
plan addendum to the EHD by July 31, 2009, to address. the collection of one grab
groundwater sample in the area of P-15B.
The EHD approves the following reduction in sample collection:
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from monitoring well MW-4 and analyze the
samples for 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) only; when annually sampling all wells,
include TPH-g; benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); and
methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) in the analysis of the MW-4 sample.
• Annually collect groundwater from MWA, MW-2, and MW-3 and analyze the
samples for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE, and 1,2-DCA.
By letter dated March 17, 2008, the EHD had directed that soil concentrations of
contaminants of concern that exceeded the Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs) (San
Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board) for gross contamination and direct
I
