1
' 27 June 2003
• AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
tPage 4 of 5
' • The ground water elevation at the site was within the screened intervals of wells MW-1,
MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4, which should yield samples fully representative of shallow
ground water conditions.
' • A low concentration of dissolved TPH-g was detected in the sample collected from well
MW-2 indicating only a minor impact to ground water in the area assessed.
• TPH-d was not analyzed by the laboratory for the October 2002 monitoring event due to all
four TPH-d sample containers being broken while in custody of the laboratory.
' • Low concentrations of dissolved ethylbenzene and xylenes were detected in well MW-2
indicating a minor impact to ground water in the area assessed.
• Low concentrations of dissolved MTBE and TBA continue to be detected in the sample
collected from well MW-2 indicating only a minor impact to ground water in the area
assessed.
t • Low concentrations of 1,2-DCA continue to be detected in the samples collected from wells
MW-1, MW-2 and MW-4 indicating only a minor impact to ground water in the area
assessed.
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected during the fourth quarter 2002, AGE recommends:
' 0 Continued quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling of wells MW-1 through MW-4
until notified by the SJCEHD that either a reduction in the ground water monitoring program
' is warranted or that no further action is necessary at the site (i.e. site closure).
• Prior to the next quarterly ground water monitoring event AGE will redevelop well MW-4.
' Generali only low to non-detect concentrations of petroleum constituents have been reported at the
Y Y p p
site in wells MW-1 through MW-4,indicating that there is only a minor mass of dissolved petroleum
' hydrocarbons. Due to the low to non detectable concentrations of contaminants in the soil and
ground water underlying the site,AGE recommends preparation of a closure summary report for the
site.
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
