24 December 2001
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
' MW-2 and MW-3; TBA had previously been detected in wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3
indicating a minor impact to ground water in the area assessed.
• The elevated petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected in the grab ground water
sample collected from soil boring P-8 on 21 June 1999 suggest that P-8 may be near the
dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon "core area"of the plume.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site in September 2001, AGE recommends:
' a Continued quarterly ground water monitoring of wells MWA, MW-2 and MW-3.
• Submission of one ground water monitoring well sample to a microbiological laboratory for
' microbial enumeration and physicochemical analysis to evaluate the potential for adequate
natural attenuation of petroleum hydrocarbons in ground water at the site.
A work plan was submitted to the PHS-EHD on 17 July 2001 that details installation of one ground
water monitoring well and advancement of three soil borings; the work plan was approved by PHS-
EHD letter on 31 July 2001. AGE anticipates implementation of the approved work plan in January
' 2002.
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic
' conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of
available data points(i.e. ground water monitoring wells), and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
' recommendations contained in this report.
ii.
Y
' Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc,
