06 November 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 97=0327 .
Page_4 of 4
Wells MW-1,MW-2.and.-MW-3 and dissolved MTBE-detected in samples from wells MW-1 .
and MW-2 indicating that there:is only minor impact to ground water in the area assessed.
• The elevated petroleum, hydrocarbon concentrations detected in a grab ground water sample
collected from soil boring P-9 on 21 June 1999 suggest that P-8 may be near the dissolved
petroleum hydrocarbon"core area"of the plume.
5.0.- RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site in August 2000, AGE recommends:
Continued.quarterly ground water monitoring of wells MW-1,"MW-2 and MW-3 for the
r—
remainderofthe year-, following four consecutive ground water monitoring events,AGE will
make a recommendation to, the PHS'EHD to re-evaluate the ground.water monitoring ,
program, if warranted. The next ground water monitoring event is tentatively scheduled for
{ November 2000.
• Submission of one ground water monitoring well sample-to a microbiological laboratory for
r" microbial enumeration and physicochemical analysis to examine natural-attenuation of
: petroleum-hydrocarbons in groundwater at the-site.
• A search for sensitive ground water receptors within a 2,000-foot radius of the site'. .
17
• Installation of one ground Water monitoring well downgradient of,soil boring P-8.to assess
the elevated petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations detected in P-8 on 21 June 1999;the well,
should.be installed approximately.60 to 70 feet south-of monitoring well MW-2.
6.4. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that.degree of care.and skill ordinarily exercised by
+ environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were.based upon
analytical results provided-by an independent laboratory,Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic .
-- conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of
available.data points (i.e. ground water monitoring wells), and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points-, No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained'in this report. -
" Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
