The
destruction activities were performed on August 21, 1996 under San Joaquin Public Health
Services (SJCPHS) permit#009285 and your personal supervision. The well was sealed in
place by pressure grouting the lower portion of the well with neat cement from the total
depth of 94.5 feet below ground surface (BGS) to 20 feet BGS. The upper 20 feet of the
well was drilled out using 10-inch diameter hollow-stem ;drilling equipment and the
resulting open borehole was backfilled to the surface with neat cement. The drill cuttings
from the upper 20 feet of the well were temporarily stored in two 55-gallon drums. These
drums were removed and disposed of at the BFI-Vasco Road Landfill on August 30, 1996.
The transport manifest is attached.
It is EMCON's understanding that this well destruction completes closure activities and
that no further action is required concerning this site. Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
EMCON
Terry Gyrion Mark Smolley ,
Geologist Project Manager
Attachments: Drum Transport Manifest
cc: Binayak Acharya-Nestle
Project File
ESAH:\NESTLE\STOCKTON.DO -95\thg:i
}
`i
