it
CHRONOLOGY
NE'STLEXARNA` ION
4343 FREMONT AVE
STOCKTON CA 95215
SITE CODE: 2095
The site is currently a warehouse and parking area owned by Smart and Final (Shawnut Bank
National Association Trust). The San Joaquin APN for the site is 143-280-39. In November
1985, prior to tank removal an assessment was conducted which evidenced soil contamination.
One underground storage tank was removed and soil samples collected on June 25, 1986. In
1994 additional soil and groundwater investigation was initiated. The extent of possible
groundwater contamination was investigated with the installation and sampling of one monitoring
well. Groundwater contamination was not confirmed. San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) concurs with the recommendation that the
site be certified for closure.
1985
11-26-85 Eight soil borings were drilled and sampled. Twelve soil samples from S135 - S138
were submitted for laboratory analysis. Attached are copies of the boring logs.
Sample ID/Depth Lead Semi/non volatile Hydrocarbon Unknown
Fuel Hydrocarbons organics
as oil
B5@ 12-13.5' <20 ppm
B5@ 17-18.5' 10.0 ppm <20 ppm
B5@ 22-23.5 <20 ppm
B6@ 12-13.5' <20 ppm
B6@ 17-18.5' 10.0 ppm <20 ppm
B6@ 22-23.5' <20 ppm
B7@ 10-11.5' 1,000 ppm 50,000 ppb <100 ppb
B7@ 15-16.5' 8.6 ppm <20 ppm <20 ppb 500 ppb
B7@ 20-21.5' <20 ppm
B8@ 10-11.5' <20 ppm
B8@ 15-16.5' 10.3 ppm <20 ppm
B8@ 20-21.5' <20 ppm
