The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(County) requested you to submit a plan of work to investigate the extent of this contamination on
7 January 1999. The County has not received a plan of work to complete the requested
investigation, and therefore, this site has been referred to the Regional Water Quality Control
Board for regulatory oversight and enforcement.
On 2 April 2001, Board staff completed a visit to the Buffalo Tank Corporation site and met with
the caretaker. The caretaker stated that there is an existing water supply well on-site. We are
concerned that contamination associated with the former USTs at the Buffalo Tank site may have
impacted groundwater at your site, and we would like to sample your on-site well. Please call me
at the phone number below to arrange a time for me to sample your water supply well.
In addition,by 21 May 2001, submit a letter report to this office documenting the status of the
subject site, including site background, current site use, and a summary of activities completed to
date to investigate the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination associated with the former
UST.
The status report must also include a complete list of current owners for the property. Section
25299.37.2(x) of Chapter 6.75 of the California Health and Safety requires that all current record
owners listed on the deed title be notified of any corrective action or site closure proposals prior to
the Regional Board considering the proposal.
