The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(County) requested you to submit a plan of work to investigate the extent of this contamination on
7 January 1999. The County has not received a plan of work to complete the requested
investigation, and therefore, this site has been referred to the Regional Water Quality Control
Board for regulatory oversight and enforcement.
By 20 April 2001, submit a letter report to this office documenting the status of the subject site.
The letter must include site background, current site use, and a summary of all activities completed
to date to investigate the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination associated with the
former UST.
The status letter report must also include a complete list of all record owners of fee title. Section
25299.37.2(a) of Chapter 6.75 of the California Health and Safety requires that all current record
owners of fee title to the site be notified of any corrective action or site closure proposals prior to
the Regional Board considering the proposal. Furthermore, the responsible party(ies) must certify
in writing to the County and Regional Board that the notification requirement has been met and
must submit a complete mailing list of all record owners of fee title.
A state fund is available to assist UST owners and operators with the costs associated with the
investigation and remediation of underground storage tank releases. Please contact Ms. Sandy Gill
with the State Water Resources Control Board,UST Fund at (916) 227-4411 for more details
regarding available funds.
California Environmental Protection Agency
aRecycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
