i
Mr. Michael J. Infurna Jr.
April 25, 2006
j Page 3
The samples will be field screened with a flame ionization detector (FID) or a
photoionization detector (PID) and recorded on field forms. The samples sleeves will be
immediately covered with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps, labeled, recorded on a chain-
of-custody form, and placed into a cooler with ice for transport under chain of custody
protocol to a state-certified analytical laboratory. A minimum of one selected sample per
boring will be analyzed in accordance with the following analytical program:
• TPHg, BTEX, and MTBE with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Methods 8015M/8020, and
• TPHd and TPHmo with EPA Method 8015M.
The results of the investigation will be summarized in a brief letter report including a tabular
listing of sample identification numbers and sample depths, analytical data and FID/PID
readings, copies of the laboratory analytical reports and chain of custody forms, and a map
of the actual sample locations. The report will describe the sampling methods utilized, the
sample handling procedures, and a narrative describing the sample results. The report will
also present conclusions and recommendations for additional investigation if appropriate.
The report will be submitted to PG&E for comments and edits and a revised report will be
submitted to PG&E and a copy of the revised report will be submitted to SJCEHD.
SCHEDULE
The field work is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2006. As required,
SJCEHD will be notified at least 48 hours prior to the field work. The analytical results will
be submitted for normal turn-around times and are expected to be received in
approximately two to three weeks. SECOR anticipates that a draft report will be submitted
to PG&E for review and comment within two to three weeks of receipt of final analytical
results and a revised report will be submitted to PG&E and to SJCEHD within one week of
receipt of comments. SECOR appreciates the cooperation afforded by SJCEHD in
facilitating a quick review of this work plan.
i
i
i
lAPG&E\PM\work plan 2nd PZ Il.doc
I
