By letter dated March 16, 2005, San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department (EHD) requested that the analytical laboratory review the sample
chromatograms from the analysis by Method 8260B for possible correlations with the
discrete peaks found during the sample analysis by Method 8015B. On November 17, 2006,
Kiff Analytical, LLC (Kiff) , the laboratory where the samples were analyzed, identified
the discrete peak found in the diesel chromatograms for grab groundwater samples B-1, B-2,
and B-4 as dodecane, and identified the discrete peak found in the gasoline chromatograms
for grab groundwater samples B-2 and B-3 as chloroform. Attached please find the letter
dated March 16, 2005, and the case narrative from Kiff Laboratory. No monitoring wells
were installed at this site.
By letter dated November 27, 2006, to Dean Janssen at Ace Tomato Company, Inc. , EHD
requested a closure/no further action required (NFAR) report be submitted to EHD by
January 31, 2007. Chris Palmer of Wright Environmental Services, Inc. requested an
extension by e-mail to EHD on January 10, 2007. By letter dated January 19, 2007, EHD
extended the date for submitting the NFAR report to EHD to May 25, 2007. Ben
Heningburg and I will contact lead agency caseworkers during the next several months to
update and verify "Soil only" LUST cases in GeoTracker.
We have identified Open/ LUST/ Soil Only cases in GeoTracker that either. . . 1. List no
recent (>2 years) activities or 2. Contain notes and data indicating something other than
a "soil only" risk management case type. If the case is a 1, then we are here to help
1
