Requested data .4 r Page 2 of 3
I have placed the request to quantify these compounds for the water samples with our analysts, to see if
we can do so from the existing raw data (we pulled the raw data out of archive for the Narrative change in
July). I also asked for an ETA; usually, if the data is readily available these requests are completed within
a couple of days_ If the data needs to be pulled from archive again, it can take up to a week!
I am hopeful that the values can be quantified definitively, although the Narrative comment that the
Dodecane was tentatively identified has me a little pessimistic for that compound. The Narrative comment
about Chloroform is much more upbeat to mel One of the first things the analysts will do is determine if the
GCIMS systems the samples were run on were calibrated for the compounds of interest or not; we have 14
GC/MS systems, and some are good for all analytes, whereas some are best for a limited number of
analytes. Strangely, each system has it's own "personality".
If the analytical runs were not on systems calibrated for.the analytes of interest, do you want me to have
the analysts provide an estimated amount? Please let me know!
=Troy
Troy Turpen
Account Manager
Kiff Analytical, LLC
Office: 530.297.4800 extA 11
Fax: 530.297.4808
www.kiffanalvtical,,com
Leaders in Analytical Science and Service
0
From: Vicki McCartney [EH] [mailto:vmccartney@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Wednesday, October 04, 2006 3:04 PM
To: Troy Turpen
Subject: Requested data
Troy:
Thank you for providing your e-mail address today during our telephone conversation.
The information that I initially requested from Kiff Analytical LLC on August 21, 2006, and again on
September 12, 2006, is the concentrations for dodecane found in groundwater samples B-1', B-2, and B-4,
and the concentrations for chloroform found in groundwater samples B-2 and B-3. Although these samples
were collected on October 20, 2004, at Ace Tomato Company, Inc. at 2771 East French Camp Road'
Manteca, California, the report number for these samples is 40680 and the date for the case narrative is
0711712006. 1 would appreciate a quick response to this request.
