KIFF .
Report Number: 40680
Analytical LLCU Date : 11/17/2006
Subject : 8 Soil Samples and 4 Water Samples
Project Name : Ace Tomato
Project Number
i
r
Case Narrative
E. Hydrocarbons reported as TPH as Diesel do not exhibit a typical Diesel chromatographic pattern-for
sample B-2-7@36'. These hydrocarbons are higher boiling than.typical diesel fuel. Other test mthods.*
are necessary for fuel identification, but the distribution of hydrocarbons by boiling-point range''is smil
iar to
lubricating oil.
Hydrocarbons reported as TPH as Diesel do not exhibit a typical Diesel chromatographic pattern for_
samples B-1 water, B-2 water and B4 water. The chromatograms contain discrete peaksthat'may not._
be petroleum-related. A silica gel cleanup is recommended for these samples to determine w1 ether or
not these peaks represent compounds that are petroleum hydrocarbons. The chromatographic pattern is
not typical of a petroleum fuel.
The chromatograms of samples B-1 water, B-2 water and B4 water by method 8260 were studied for the.
presence of diesel range peaks. All three chromatograms have a single peak tentatively identified as
j Dodecane. .,
Hydrocarbons reported as TPH as Gasoline do not exhibit a typical Gasoline chromatographic, pattern for
samples B-2 water and B-3 water. The TPH as Gasoline values are due to levels of Chloroform in the
samples.
No Method Reporting Limits were increased because none of the samples were diluted.
4
V
4
I
r
I
Approved By:
2795 2nd St, Suite 300 Davis, CA 95616 530-297-4800 J e Kiff
a
f
