■
4C6149P Stericyclex--
SCINTILLATION FLUID DISPOSAL AGREEMENT
Scintillation fluid is a solvent based carrier for radioisotopes which are used by the biological and medical professions.
Until March 1981,all levels of radioactivity and isotopes were regulated by the NRC. At that time, and after much
testing, the NRC concluded that the isotopes C14&H3 in concentrations below 0.05 microcuries posed no health threat.
The resultant deregulation by the NRC allowed disposal by means, other than 19w-level landfill. The fluid then became
regulated by the EPA,under RCRA. DOT regulates transportation of these above, and average, values of 0.002
microcuries per gram; labeling and placarding are required. As policy, PSC Environmental, llc.will not handle,or
transport, scintillation wastes requiring DOT radioactive labels or placards.
PSC Environmental, llc.Offers alternative disposal in compliance with applicable regulations concerning chemical waste,
covered by the EPA RCRA. We will dispose of the waste by incineration by a licensed incinerator. The glass, and ash,
will be interred at a secure chemical landfill as prescribed by regulations.
All generators of deregulated scintillation fluid must certify that materials in any quantity do not require DOT
radioactive labeling and placarding. Any attempt in misrepresenting the concentration to read below 0.002 microcuries
per gram will result in termination of service to the generator listed herein.
certifies
(Generator Name and Address)
that scintillation fluids and related materials submitted to PSC Environmental, llc. For disposal, contain no materials
regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,in any quantities, and do not require DOT labeling or placarding.
Signature Manifest No.
Print Name
Title
Date
