Duncan October 8, 2004 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Re: Groundwater Monitoring Report - Third Quarter 2004 <br /> Barnes Trucking Facility, 1817 South Fresno Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Clearwater Project No ZBI78C <br /> San Joaquin County Site Code No 2506 <br /> Dear Ms Duncan <br /> This report, prepared by Clearwater Group (Clearwater) on behalf of Barnes Trucking and Mr <br /> Floyd Barnes, presents the results of Third Quarter 2004 groundwater monitoring efforts <br /> performed on September 7, 2004 at 1817 South Fresno Avenue, Stockton, San Joaquin County, <br /> California The site location is indicated on Figure 1 Details of the site layout and well <br /> locations are provided on Figure 2 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The Barnes Trucking Facility is located adjacent to the southwest corner of the intersection of <br /> State Highway 4 and South Fresno Avenue (Figure 1) The property is located approximately <br /> 1 3 miles south of the Port of Stockton Turning Basin and 0 75 miles northeast of the San <br /> Joaquin River Currently, the site is used as a truck dispatch center and parking area There are <br /> no fuel-dispensing facilities stored or operating at the site A site plan map appears as Figure 2 <br /> In letters dated September 18, 1992 and April 30, 1996, the SJC/SJC/EHD indicated that <br /> additional investigation of this site was required because petroleum hydrocarbons were detected <br /> in soil samples collected from an underground storage tank (UST) excavation According to an <br /> April 30, 1996 SJC/SJC/EHD letter, two USTs were removed from the site on June 15, 1992 <br /> Both USTs were 10,000-gallon capacity tanks that had been used to store diesel fuel Four soil <br /> samples were collected from the bottom of the excavation at a depth of approximately 16 feet <br /> 229 Tewksbury Avenue ♦ Point Richmond,California 94801 ♦ Telephone 510-307-9943 ♦ Fax 510-232-2823 <br />
