C L E A kWkT-E R <br />' G R O U P <br /> Environmental servires <br /> 1 <br /> sorbed-phase contamination in the area of MW-5B is likely an ongoing source of dissolved-phase <br />' contamination <br /> The core of the plume is located proximal to the former UST pit and MW-5 The maximum <br /> extent of the residual dissolved-phase contaminant plume is approximately 275 feet long (parallel <br />' to groundwater flow) and 130 feet wide (perpendicular to groundwater flow), based on non- <br /> detectable concentrations of TPHg (Figure 7) Based on the approximate plume dimensions <br /> noted above and the assumption of plume thickness of 15 feet and porosity of saturated zone of <br /> 0 35, it is estimated that approximately 1,125,435 gallons of groundwater are affected by gasoline <br /> contamination It estimated that approximately 33 lbs or 5 4 gallons of gasoline reside in the <br /> dissolved-phase beneath the site (Table 5) The great disparity between mass of contaminants in <br /> the sorbed- and dissolved-phase is typical of many gasoline contaminated sites <br /> I� <br /> lie 4.0 SENSITIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY <br /> 4.1 Buildings <br /> The nearest commercial building to the contaminant plume is the on-site structure, which <br /> operates as Barnes Trucking Facility's office (Figure 2) The leading edge of the dissolved-phase <br /> plume is across the street and adjacent to a City of Stockton Fire Station <br /> 4.2 Nearby Production Wells <br /> Clearwater personnel performed a search of wells within a 112-mile radius of the site This task <br /> was accomplished by reviewing files at the Department of Water Resources (DWR) in <br /> Sacramento, California, and field inspection of properties immediately adjacent to the site The <br /> DWR search indicated the presence of 1 well located within the search area The well is located <br /> on the property immediately north of Barnes Trucking Facility, at the southwest corner of the <br /> intersection of Charter Way (State Hwy 4) and Fresno Ave (Figure 1) This location is <br />' upgradient of the contamination source on the Barnes Trucking property at a distance of <br /> approximately 400 feet The well was installed to supply water for industrial use, however, the <br />' property has since been redeveloped with housing <br /> ZB 178C CAP 8 November 20,2002 <br />
