� L��ELEARWATER ° G R O U P, I N C AUG 2 0 2001 f Environmental Services ENPERMI TISERVICES HEALTH Ms Lori Duncan August 17,2001 San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division 304 East Weber Avenue, Thlsd Floor Stockton,CA 95202 Re Workplan for remedial feasibility testing Barnes Trucking 1817 Fresno Avenue Stockton,CA 95206 Dear Ms Duncan, This work plan, prepared by Clearwater Group (Clearwater) on behalf of Barnes Trucking and Mr Floyd Barnes, follows the request made by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (EHD) iii a letter dated August 7, 2001 to undertake remedial feasibility testing at the above referenced site This work plan includes pilot testing for groundwater extraction, soil vapor extraction, and air sparging Background Site description The Barnes Trucking Facility is located adjacent to the southwest comer of the intersection of Charter Way (State Highway 4) and South Fresno Avenue (Figure 1) The property is located approximately 15 miles south of the Port of Stockton Turning Basin and 0 9 mile east of the San Joaquin River (Figure 2) Currently, the site is used as a truck dispatch center and parking area There are no fuel dispensing facilities stored or operating at the site Investigation histo In letters dated September 18, 1992 and April 30, 1996, the EHD indicated that additional investigation of this site was required because petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from an underground storage tank (UST) excavation According to an April 30, 1996 EHD letter, two USTs were removed troiri the site an June 15, 1992 Both OSTs were 10,000-gallon capacity 520 Third Street,Suite 104 O Oakland,California 94607 o Telephone 510-893-5160 o Fax 510-893-5947 }
