C L E A kWA'T-E R
G R O U P
Env:ronmrrs taf Servects
borehole location for the dual-phase test well is shown in Figure 1 Tentative well construction details
are attached
The well will be constructed of clean, flush-threaded, PVC well materials Well screen, with 0 02-inch
perforations, will extend from the bottom of each boring to the top of known sorbed phase contamination
approximately 10 feet bgs, and blank casing will be extended to ground surface A filter pack of
Lonestar#3 sand will extend from the bottom of each boring to one foot above the screened interval The
filter pack will be sealed by a one-foot layer of hydrated bentonite The remaining annular space will
be filled with cement and a tamper-resistant box will be concreted in place over the wellhead flush
with the ground surface
Following installation, Clearwater will survey the top of casing elevation, accurate to within ±0 01-
feet MSL, and relative to at least two existing monitoring wells on-site where the casing elevation is
already known
An electronic water level indicator, accurate to within t0 01-foot,will be used to gauge depth to water
The well will be checked for the presence of separate-phase hydrocarbons (SPH) prior to development
The well will be developed by surging and bailing Development will involve the removal of water
from the well until such tune that it is relatively free of sediment, and pH, temperature, and
conductivity parameters have stabilized Well purging information will be recorded on Gauge
Data/Purge Calculations and Purge Data sheets
It is anticipated that the test well will be actively used during full-scale remedial system operation if
these methods prove to be effective in remediation of the site
Proposed air sparge point installation
The air sparge point will be constructed of clean, flush-threaded, two-inch diameter PVC well
materials and constructed such that the top of the screen is submerged at least 8 feet throughout the
year Based on the maximum depth to water at approximately 14 feet bgs, the well will be screened
with 0 02-inch perforations from approximately 22 to 25 feet bgs Blank casing will be extended from
the top of the screened portion to ground surface A filter pack of Lonestar#3 sand will extend from the
bottom of the boring to one foot above the screened interval The filter pack will be sealed by a two-
ZBI78C Workplan for remedzaI feasibility testing 7 August 200I
