I{� <br /> I G R O U P, I N C ( 1)__ , r <br /> z r'e <br /> n <br /> Enveronmentu[ Services 11 <br /> 3 <br /> Ms Lori Duncan December 10, 1998 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re: Addendum to Workplan for Site Investigation <br /> Barnes Trucking Facility <br /> 1817 South Fresno Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Duncan, <br /> This workplan addendum is submitted by Clearwater Group, Inc (Clearwater) on <br /> behalf of Barnes Trucking The Barnes Trucking Facility is located south of State <br /> Highway 4 at 1817 South Fresno Avenue (Figure 1) <br /> In a letter dated December 7, 1998, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division (EHD) responded to Clearwater's Workplan for Site <br /> Investigation, dated November 18, 1998 The following modifications to the <br /> workplan are submitted as requested in your letter <br /> • The proposed soil borings will be continuously cored to provide more complete <br /> data for the preparation of subsurface geological cross-sections <br /> • A well survey will be conducted to identify all agricultural, industrial, domestic <br /> and municipal wells within 2,000 feet of the site <br /> • The proposed monitoring well construction description in Section 2 2 of the <br /> workplan was incorrect The filter pack will be placed a minimum of one foot <br /> above the screen interval, followed by a two foot bentonite seal with the <br /> remainder of the well annulus filled with a cement/bentonite grout (Figure 2) <br /> The following is provided in response to the EHD concerns about confirmation <br /> sampling and analysis of fuel oxygenates <br /> • Groundwater samples, collected from wells MW-1, -2, and -3 during the fourth <br /> quarter 1998 sampling event, were analyzed for the five fuel oxygenates by EPA <br /> Method 8240 including MTBE The detection limit for this analysis by Entech <br /> • Labs will be at or below 10 gg/L Results will be reported in the quarterly report <br /> 520 Third Street,Suite 104 o Oakland,California 94607 o Telephone 510-893-5160 o Fax 510-893-5947 <br />
