GEER
GENESIS ENGINEERING& REDEVELOPMENT
Ms. Terrell
April 4,2013
Page 3
A minimum of three reconnaissance groundwater samples will be collected, with one sample
collected between an injection point and each of the three monitoring wells (i.e. MW-103,
MW-104, and CRW-4). The reconnaissance groundwater samples will be collected from the
boring at which amendment is first detected around each monitoring well. The sampling
depth will be decided in the field based on the depth at which amendment is visually
observed in the core. Additional reconnaissance groundwater samples may be collected from
other borings, dependent on observations made in the field.
Reconnaissance groundwater samples will be analyzed for nitrate and ammonium. Because
reconnaissance groundwater samples usually yield only small amounts of water, analysis of
the other constituents listed in the MRP will not be performed. However, if a boring does
yield more water, then additional analyses(i.e. sulfate, dissolved iron, dissolved arsenic,
dissolved organic carbon, and alkalinity)may be performed.
Reporting
The results of this investigation will be reported in a separate document. The report will
include a summary of the actual scope of work, visual observations of the radius of influence
around injection points, and analytical data from reconnaissance groundwater samples.
These data will be analyzed with respect to the lateral extent of amendment around each
injection point, and the effectiveness of the amendment in reducing nitrate concentrations.
Should you have any questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to
contact us at(209) 599-2004.
Respectfully submitted,
Genesis Engineering & Redevelopment,Inc. 459oNAt (3 o
fc
¢ Stephan J. m
Van der Hoven
No.8929
Stephen J.
