Ripon Farm Services
Treatability Study
Johnny,
Enclosed you will find the permit applications for conducting the Treatability Study for the
former Ripon Farm Service facility. The treatability study consists of a pre-test to determine the
lateral distribution of the amendment during injection, and injection the amendment(EHC) at
four locations around each of two existing monitoring wells, MW-103 and MW-104.
The pre-test will be conducted on parcel 261-020-06. It consists of advancing a borehole to the
water table (estimated depth of 25 feet below grade), and injecting EHC between the water table
and a depth of 43 feet below grade. Following injection, three exploratory boreholes will be
advanced, 6 feet, 12 feet, and 18 feet from the initial injection boring. These boreholes will be
advanced to a depth of 43 feet below grade. At each borehole, the material below the water table
will be visually inspected to determine how far the amendment spread laterally from the injection
boring. This information will be used to determine the lateral spacing of the injection borings
around monitoring wells MW-103 and MW-104.
Monitoring wells MW-103 and MW-104 are located on parcel 261-020-07. Four injection points
will be advanced around each of these monitoring wells. Each borehole will be advanced to the
water table, and EHC will be injected between the water table and a depth of 43 feet below
grade.
Cascade Drilling will advance the boreholes and inject the amendment. The will abandon the
boreholes by placing a tremie pipe in each borehole and pumping neat cement to just below the
ground surface. The upper foot of each borehole will be backfilled with native material.
