300 GERTRUDE
PAGE 2
Two on-site monitoring wells MW-308 and MW-220 were discovered approximately
100 feet south of the former UST location on February 24, 1999 by ATC staff. Mr.
Butch Schmidt of SUSD also acknowledged there are other monitoring wells on site.
The wells were installed for the on-going investigation of the dissolved chromium
contamination at the Marley Cooling Tower Company facility unrelated to the
petroleum contamination at this site. These wells are currently being used to monitor
the effectiveness of the soil flushing and groundwater treatment operation at the
Marley site. PHS/EHD recommends contacting Marley Cooling Tower if you wish to
incorporate their wells into the on-site investigation. At the minimum, you should
review well logs and quarterly/annual reports of the Marley site to obtain well
construction details.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
V
Jeffley Wong , REHS Margare Lagorno, VS
LOP/Site Mitigation Uni Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region -Mark List
c: ATC Associates Inc. - Tom Lutterman
