Gertrude, Stockton
Subsurface Investigation
We have reviewed the June 13, 1991 Work Plan for Preliminary Site
Assessment. Your consultant, Helmick and Lerner, has proposed
drilling for soil borings and analyzing, a total of eight samples
(two from each boring) to determine the lateral extent of
hydrocarbon contamination. The Work,Plan is acceptable with the
following revisions.
1. Lead concentrations shall be analyzed. Samples with lead
concentrations above the STLC shall be analyzed via the
Waste Extraction Test (WET) .
2. The disposal option selected for the drill cuttings shall
be included and documented in the preliminary report.
It is my understanding, based on a telephone conversation with John
Russel, that drilling permits will be submitted by the drilling
contractor. The permit will be issued upon receipt and review.
Please notify this office 48 hours in advance of scheduled field
work.
If you have any questions, contact Eleanor Ratliff, RENS, of my
staff at (209) 468-3454.
Joqi Rha M.D. , M.P.H.
Health cer
e A. otul , , Program Manager
vironmental Health Division
LAC/ER:nr
c: CVRWQCB - G.L.
