(AGE) for the above-referenced site.
This work plan proposes to install one groundwater extraction well to fifty feet below
surface grade (bsg) and perform a groundwater aquifer extraction pilot test for interim
remediation at this site.
EHD approves the installation of the extraction well to be located east of the former 1,000-
gallon gasoline tank located at the northwest corner of this site and the feasibility pilot test.
Instead of collecting soil samples at five-foot intervals, EHD recommends obtaining
continuous core through the intervals of interest for lithological evaluation to optimize
screen placement. EHD also recommends that an additional extraction well be installed
adjacent to the first extraction well and screened between 58 and 73 feet bsg since there
appears to be a sand layer between 60 and 70 feet bsg. EHD suggests that you perform an
appropriate pumping test for this extraction well, also.
Please submit an addendum to the work plan to EHD by February 3, 2005, that includes the
installation of a second extraction well to a total depth of 73 feet bsg.
If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at(209) 468-3456.
Donna Heran,REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Vicki McCartney, REHS 4 Nuel C.
