(AGE) on your behalf. In this work plan AGE proposes to install
four monitoring wells to delineate the extent of migration of groundwater impacted by high
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon compounds. The proposed wells include:
• Two monitoring wells screened between approximately 30 and 50 feet below surface
grade (bsg); one well to be installed inside the building occupied by Larry's Auto,
approximately 75 feet southeast of monitoring well MW-1; and one well to be
installed beneath the sidewalk on the north side of Miner Avenue, approximately 90
feet east of MW-4.
• Two monitoring wells screened between approximately 95 and 100 feet bsg; one well
to be installed adjacent to MW-1, and one well to be installed beneath the sidewalk on
the north side of Miner Avenue, approximately 15 feet east of MW-4.
EHD approves installation of the two monitoring wells screened between approximately 30
and 50 feet bsg. However, EHD does not believe the two proposed monitoring wells
screened between approximately 95 to 100 feet bsg are appropriately screened. Based on soil
lithology for cone penetrometer test (CPT) boring CPT-1, EHD believes two monitoring
wells should be installed adjacent to MW-1, one screened between approximately 129 and
134 feet bsg, and one screened between approximately 158 and 163 feet bsg. Also, based on
soil lithology for CPT-2,EHD believes two monitoring wells should be installed beneath the
sidewalk on the north side of Miner Avenue, approximately 15 feet east of MW-4, one
screened between approximately 68 and 76 feet bsg, and one screened between
approximately 91 and 96 feet bsg.
